"Twas the Night before Due Date"
Twas the night before Due Date, when all through the house.
Not a creature was stiring not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.
In hopes that the baby.............would bloody hurry up!!!
Hope we have more news soon
As we haven't got a photo of a baby to show you yet, I thought this one would do for now.
It was taken at Donna Nook Seal Reserve in Lincolnshire a couple of weekends ago. The females come to shore around mid-November to give birth and if you are lucky and time your visit right you can see them give birth. You can view the seals at the reserve from behind a small fence or if you've got wellies and a good coat, walk for about 20-30 mins to the seals out on the sand banks and in the sea. This can only be done at weekends as the sand banks are a bombing range for the RAF during the week so should be avoided, if in doubt as the warden and please DO NOT TAKE DOGS!!
The seals are only around until early January when they have again mated with the Bulls waiting for them and gone back to sea until next year.
